<p>I am a junior right now and I am thinking about taking Principles of Microeconomics this summer at a local college. My weighted GPA right now is a 4.91 and even though it will go up more, I would prefer to have it higher. How much does taking college classes over the summer help.in admissions. Is it worth it? I am also planning on studying economics or Business in college. Thanks</p>

<p>Taking college classes will definitely help; it shows that you are a motivated student who is willing to spend more time outside of school to pursue areas of interest. And your GPA is pretty inflated if 5.0 is only awarded to honors and AP classes… </p>
<p>Also, finishing a class relevant to the major you hope to pursue in college will also help.</p>
