The TLC special tonight was filmed before Josh’s latest sexscapades came to light so perhaps no mention that their preferred one-size-fits-all-sins rehab will take care of this, too.
I can just imagine the affront it would be to other survivors to hear, “Pray” and “Forgive.” And maybe nonsense about protecting men from your temptations.
Agree that having the Duggars take any part in this special tonight is absurd. I am hoping their actual air time is tiny. I read that before Josh’s second scandal, JimBob was actually trying to pitch a show where the Duggars would counsel other victims. Beyond ludicrous.
Man accused of sexual predation avoiding authorities in the U.S. through overseas mission work.
Jessa and Ben want to adopt:
They explored adoption earlier and learned most require them to be married at least two years. Some states have a question about whether one has experienced sexual abuse of some form.

So it seems Josh’s father is running the show here. No surprise.
It appears there is no individual or group therapy included in this rehab program. Is he going to continue to go in and out of rehab every time more revelations are made.
Watching “Breaking the Silence” on TLC. Well done and no Duggars so far.
Quick shot of Jessa, Jill and Michelle attending a seminar on preventing child sex abuse. They are discussing prevention - minimizing opportunities for it to happen. Which makes the Duggars an extreme example of what not to do - given that Josh confessed to them at least 3 times and they did not remove him from the home.
I’m not buying their part.
Michelle just spoke about how wonderful it was to be learning more about this important topic. What? That stmt could apply to a seminar on almost anything. No acknowledgement that it happened to her daughters and she did nothing. Jessa comments about expecting a baby and wanting to understand how to protect her child - but no mention of her abuse by Josh.
It’s an odd juxtaposition - several survivors spoke - with great emotion and obvious pain about what happened to them. And then you have the Duggars - smiling and acting upbeat. Jessa in particular was grinning away. I truly don’t get it.
Notice that only the two married daughters were allowed to go with mom to the seminar. Wouldn’t it have been a good idea for all of them to go to learn how to prevent child abuse? Why not any of the older boys and Jana?
The Duggars’ part in that show was jarring. It seems to me the show can be shown on network TV with time for commercials if the Duggars’ tiny piece is cut.
I thought the show was very well done.
I really cannot believe that TLC chose to air this with the Duggar parts intact. Really awkward to me. So the Duggars had very little air time in it???
Very very little. And just one 15-second or so piece each of the two girls and Michelle.
So do you think TLC edited them out for the most part after the last few weeks?
As a whole, I think the show was important. Early on, they mentioned that being aware of others in the same situation was a tremendous help to victims, gave some balance and sense of options. And that’s what the sum total of the program did: gave other victims some awareness they are not alone and have options. In that respect, I’d give it high marks.
But the Duggar part was bull. They shut down on the issue when it happened to them and have no business claiming how becoming informed/educated or being able to talk things out helped. This whole thread is about how they are not informed on a variety of topics and chose to insulate and isolate.
Interesting question, abasket. Maybe.
So, I’m guessing Josh won’t be having dinner any time soon with Jessa and Ben!
