<p>I’m so excited to find out from Duke. And even if they don’t take me (which would be very very disappointing), I know that I still have a lot of other decisions coming the NEXT week.</p>

<p>@plumazul: Same here about Cornell! A year ago it was my top choice but I ended up not even applying. I went to summer session there last summer and found that I hate the location haha there was absolutely nothing to do there. Ithaca is literally in the middle of nowhere and the town center is sketchy haha</p>
<p>I didn’t submit any of the optional supplement. Should I be hopeful or be certain that I will be rejected? I did include a short essay in the additional info of the Common App though. I found out about Duke too late that I didn’t have enough time to finish a supplement. And I just got waitlisted at Oberlin. I’m an international student applying for lots of aid at Duke. Should I be hopeful at all?</p>
<p>I didn’t do the optional essay at UChicago and I got in…but then again I’m not an international applying for aid, so I guess my situation doesn’t apply to yours.</p>

<p>Did they REALLY have to make us wait through the weekend? I was thinking at least we could wallow for a couple of days before going back to school with a rejection, not to mention it wouldn’t ruin the rest of the week quite as badly. And with an acceptance, there would be two whole days to celebrate!</p>

<p>I am from Florence, Italy. I have attended a diabolically difficult public classical high school. I have applied to Wellesley, Vassar, UNC and Duke;. UNC has just sent me a: Sorry blah blah letter. They feel I would not be able to keep up with the incoming freshman. OK…no comment. </p>
<p>CC, by the way, is a wonderful source of information. If the above three schools are in agreement with UNC then it will be law school in Europe for me. Suggestions anyone??</p>

<p>@pozzol - Interesting that UNC would be so specific about why they rejected you, but you can certainly learn from that. UNC focuses primarily on North Carolinians.</p>
<p>Of your remaining schools, I would recommend Wellesley. A neighbor’s daughter went there and she loved it. I think it would provide less of a culture shock for you.</p>
