<p>how hard is it for them to send out a mass e-mail saying when they’re releasing decisions. because if it’s the 9th then that’s like, a week. and would be great. so much better than the 15th.</p>
<p>@Alphagirl It probably isn’t true, or at least definite. Someone called on the 5th for the Class of 2013 hopefuls and they were told that it would be on the 15th. Then someone else called (on the same day) and was told that they hadn’t decided on the day yet. A couple hours later it came out on the D that decisions would be released on the 11th. <p>My bet is that they will release something on either the 5th or 6th, whether it be on the D or an email or whatever, that the decisions will be up on the 9th or the 10th. Man I hope it’s the 10th.</p>
<p>ah! i am nervous, i never really anticipated waiting to get my letter would be this nerve racking. I literally am loosing sleep. Question, how do they even post the decision, is it just emailed to you? like oh hey by the way you’re in sort of deal… ahhh i cannot wait any longer this is horrible. ps. have any of you checked what duke has posted about the statistics for the ed pool of 2015? it has increased drastically! and more minorities applied this year which totally sucks for me :(</p>
<p>I read through the 2013 Countdown thread, and I was getting nervous just seeing their posts. I can’t even imagine how i’ll feel when my turn comes around…</p>
<p>They definitely said two weeks simply to avoid the real question, because Dec. 15th is in less than two weeks. But I truly believe that we will receive our decisions on the 10th (at least) because they somehow managed to get them out on the 10th last year, after a 32% increase in applicants. After this years 14% increase, I would think (or maybe just hope!) they could do it again. I need them to send out that email, if only for my sanity. Ah!</p>

i have a question (and please someone with true knowledge answer this): this is my scenario… two athletes have already been recruited and accepted; me and my very good friend are both applying early as regular applicants (aka not collegiate athletes)…wat r the odds we both get in?</p>

<p>@LImaxduke I can tell you that colleges, including Duke, have been really stressing the fact that they don’t have quotas or limits for schools. They look at each applicant and decide based on their individual qualifications. So no one can really give you odds, because it completely depends how strong of applicants you and your friend are in comparison to everyone else who applied. I would say, however, that your chances are not really affected by the athletes.</p>

<p>but what im worried for the most. is that i have a really smart friendgroup. like out of the 10 of us, we all applied early to schools like stanford penn duke, etc. actually 3 were to stanford. but i can’t help but imagine how AWKWARD it’s going to be when we get mixed reviews. like 2 got into stanford and the other didn’t. like.AHHHHHHHHHHH. i should not be friends with them for a while so i don’t have to deal with that.

i’ve been working hard in school because i mean if i don’t get in my first semester grades will matter mucho for my RD schools…but school isn’t helping me take my mind off duke
