So according to the Duke checklist page, concerning the Mid-year grade report: “Lack of this information will not hold up your application review, however, this information is required for an admission decision.” Is this accurate for ED applicants? If so, I don’t see how I can get an admissions decision on or before December 15 since my semester isn’t over by then.

No, the mid year report is only needed for regular applicants.

How do we actually see our admission decision though? Is it through the same account as our online tracking application? And what exactly is the “D”?

[Duke University Admissions: The D](http://www.admissions.duke.edu/jump/thed/index.html)

[Duke University Admissions: What is the D?](http://admissions.duke.edu/jump/thed/whatis.html)

I’ve read that before. I was just sort of confused as to whether that was the same thing as the application tracking website.

Thanks!

So far 38/579 people in my school are applying to Duke this year, but only me and maybe about 4 other people are actually applying early. I believe the results will come out on December 11th again this year but I’m not 100% sure.

I’m thankful that I’m the only ED applicant from my school - MIT/HYPS/Penn are the big ones at my school, but the 2005 was the last time anyone from my school enrolled to Duke and 2008 was the last year someone from my school was accepted sooo… we’ll see

I am one of 2 applicants from my school, but my friend is applying to Pratt. Does anyone know if that makes it less competitive for a spot in Trinity?

I’m the only one from my school applying. It’s in Canada though lol.

So heres a question for you guys… Say you don’t get in. What is your second choice behind Duke?

I know no one wants to think about that, and I hope everyone gets in, but Id be interested in hearing what everyone’s is. Mine is probably UNC Chapel Hill or Vanderbilt.

ncboy1, those schools are also very high on my list

I also applied EA to UChicago, and I’m fairly confident about that, but I think my next choice would probably be Dartmouth or Cornell (not saying those are any easier to get into than Duke…).

If I don’t get in, I’m applying ED II to Vanderbilt

how long did all your interviews last for? mine was 2 hrs… is that odd?

Mine would probably be either Stanford or Brown (I’m not even counting Yale or Princeton as a second choice because I’m just applying for fun and have like a .00000001% chance of getting in).

my interview was 45 min. I would take it as a good sign that your interview lasted longer, as it seems that you had a connection with your interviewer.

@ ballinallday, my interview was 45 min as well. i also saw on another thread (i think it was you) that you applied to umich ea? i did too and was wondering how high it is on your list.
other than duke ed i applied to:
notre dame ea, unc ea, umich ea, and penn state rolling (safety)
if i don’t get into duke, i’m applying to:
vandy, emory, georgetown, wash u in st. louis, tufts, northwestern, and maybe bc
my second choice is probably northwestern.

We have many of those schools in common massgirl92. Michigan is actually pretty high on my list, because if I don’t get Duke Early Decision admission, then I don’t really know if I want to pay for a private school education when a top tier public school education can be deemed just as good. I don’t have any official second choice, but i have many other schools that I would love to go to if Duke doesn’t think I’m right for them.

I also did Mich EA and it’s high on my list as well. Applying to Gtown and Vandy if things don’t work out with Duke.

Lots of people interested in Vandy. I think that may be my second choice, as well, but after hearing about weaknesses in the math department, I may reconsider that. My other choices are Rice, UNC, CMU, U Penn, UVA, Hopkins and maybe Georgetown.

I don’t really have a clear second choice, just a bunch of other places I like. I already got accepted to UT Austin, so if nothing else works out that’s where I’m going. But I would really really really like to go somewhere out of state.

Vandy seems pretty popular here!
