Duke 2015 ED applicants

michigan EA and uc berkeley

my interview was scheduled for 45 minutes and lasted an hour and a half. Definitely a good sign. And i would say UCLA and vandy are 2nd choices.

23 more days!!!

When will they tell us if the admission decisions come out earlier than December 15th? I’ve sort of been obsessively checking the application website…

I asked my brother (Duke class of 2013) and he checked his email and saw that Duke emailed him on December 8, 2008 to tell the E.D. applicants that their decisions would be posted at 6:00 PM on December 11, 2008, which held true. From what I’ve heard, the decisions last year were on December 10, 2009, which means that if the trend continues, our decisions would be ready by December 9, 2010. There is no evidence to support this, however.

considering the huge influx of ED apps, I doubt they will continue the results as early as before.

Last year had like a 32% increase and they finished a day earlier than the year before.

^ True. I think it just depends on the applicant pool they get. If they get a lot of weak applicants that are just hoping for the best, it might speed up the process. However, if all the applicants are really strong they might spend a long time in committee and we might have to wait until the 15th. I hope its the first! ;)

@Ballinallday Wow, I can’t imagine what that was like for your brother (and all of the other class of 2013 applicants). To go from a 7 day countdown to a 3 day countdown…well, I guess we’ll have our turn in the next few weeks.

So will Duke Admissions email us when the decisions will be posted online? I hope what NCBoy is saying turns out to be true!

Almost there!!

They should have rolling rejections or something…that way if I don’t get in, I can at least start my other applications before Christmas break.

I have started my other apps already, just in case…but I feel like I’m jinxing it!!!

Is anyone else applying for the robertson scholarship?

@ krogstad: I hope so too, but I am just theorizing here. I dont really know what makes the admissions office make their decision faster, Im just guessing!

@ 4everyoung: I think that would be awful. I would be so scared to open up my email everyday…

I just want to hear the decisions now so that we can all get on with the process ! XD

22 more days! I really hope decisions come out early so that I can move on sooner. The wait is getting longer each day!

Time has definitely slowed down since I applied; this process is brutal :(. But in the meantime, where is everyone from/what do you hope to major in?

I’m from Baltimore, Maryland. I’m interested in Chem and Bio

I’m from Connecticut. I’m 90% sure I want to major in BME. Also considering premed.

I’m from Upstate New York hoping to major in theatre and be pre-med. weird combination I know :]

Washington. Pre-med.
