Duke 2019 Chances

Hello! I am a junior in high school, and Duke has been my dream school for awhile, even before I spent 3 weeks there a few summers ago. I would really love some advice on how to increase my chances of getting in, besides getting better test scores. I am taking the ACT again in April and am hoping to get a 33-36. I think it should be noted that my school only has 6 AP's (I took Micro at Duke) and although I would prefer not to take Bio next year, I think I might have to so I can have a better chance. I filled out the standard template. Thanks so much for reading!

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected:

Your EC’s are spectacular! If you can get your ACT up a little bit or your SAT to a 2000+ I say you have a fantastic chance at getting in

Not bad, EC’s are pretty impressive. However, you do not have any sports, and student atheletes are highly preferred at these top schools (becuase it demonstrates a significant ability to achieve physically and academically at the same time. I mean, ask any say, water polo athlete who has a 4.87 and practices everyday from 3-8 PM).

SAT is pretty low for Duke. I’d really focus on getting that to at least 2250 if possible. This site has plenty of resources. I started where you are, and I got to 2160 within about 2 months of infrequent practice.

Chance me back

Oh, so overall, its a moderate reach.
