Son rejected, CS major
ACT 36, 4.0/4.9, CS ECs, Eagle Scout, NMF, 13 APs, etc.
Rough night here going 0/3 (and rejection letter noted his family ties to Duke, felt extra disappointing)
Congrats to future Blue Devils!

Hello and congratulations to all who got it to the school they wanted.
S22 admitted to Duke today, but missing financial aid award. Anyone else in the same situation? Thanks.

Yes. Scary for the financial piece to be up in the air, but trying to be patient. Hoping there is more good news to come. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Strong application but D22 was rejected (even though some family members went there). Moving on. Congratulations to all the admits. Duke is awesome.

New to this group as we never ever thought DS would get in.

Accepted
Engineering
98/100 unweighted gpa - we guess it’s a 4.0 as no grade lower than a 93.
1550 (790m, 760v)
NMF
Good but not major related ECs and leadership (Quiz Bowl, Model UN, etc) and not fabulous, just good
Good science research project that won a few awards
Not much public service
White male from NY.

Also got into Cornell, Michigan (after a deferral), Purdue Honors, Case Western (with great merit money), UIUC. Rejected Columbia, Northwestern and Penn (my alma mater). Wait listed at Carnegie Mellon, Vanderbilt, Rice and Northeastern (after a deferral). Did not apply anywhere ED due to financial concerns but lots of EAs.

I didn’t look but DS said the financial package included 3k in merit. No need based aid.

Guess we have some basketball to watch!

Accepted off the deferred list. Grateful and shocked. GL to everybody that’s gone through this app cycle, it’s been challenging.

D was waitlisted. She has been waitlisted by 8 selective schools, including any Ivy. This is all very hard to process. Gotta keep on trucking!

No, he did not apply for any ROTC. Wanted to just have a “normal” college experience and not worry about dress code and training sessions.

Son got Accepted. Got into Wharton as well. SAT: 1570; Weighted GPA: 101; Leadership roles in Global Health, Cricket Player - represented teams for his Zone and has played Professional Cricket; Good Luck to everyone on the Wait List and for those waiting for Stanford today.

Saw stats- 50k apps,3500 or so accepts with 110 from the deferred list. Not sure how I moved into accept but realize the probability was super low. Congrats. Here at Wake Forest admit day- wild .
