Duke Alumni Interview Question please answer!!!

Hey I applied to Duke ed. I got my supplement in by Oct 19 to get put in to have an alumni interview. I was not offered one by the dat they said it would be offered. Does this basically mean they arent interested in me and guaranteed rejection? thanks

I don’t know specifically about Duke, but alumni interviews depend on how many alumni volunteer to do them and how many applications come in from each volunteer’s area. They may not be able to interview everyone that requested an interview. It has nothing to do with your status as an applicant. That’s not how it works anywhere that I ever heard of.

Are you sure you have been checking the email account you gave the college? Have you checked your phone and/or the family phone for voicemails?

If I were you I would call the admissions office and ask them if they know anything about the status of your getting an interview. They might have a regional rep get in touch with you…

Also, I didn’t see on their website where they listed a date that you would hear back by.
I did see this though:
“Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee members will make every effort to contact the students in their areas who have met the priority deadlines, and students who do not meet these deadlines may still have their names forwarded to alumni committees in their areas. However, because of the large number of applicants and limited number of committee members, we cannot guarantee an interview for every applicant. If we are not able to offer you an interview opportunity, please be assured that it will not affect your chances of admission in any way.”
