To maybe give me a little hope...

those of you who have gotten letters already, when were your midyear reports sent in? Do you think Duke might have been holding some letters until they got those grades as well?

To clarify collegebound5, I was one of a couple to get a nomination by both schools last year. The 'choice' is not made until after the finalists' weekend. If one decides to accept the scholarship, then he or she would have the choice of which school would be his/her base school- Duke or UNC. A couple of other things, likely letters are few and far between now. Most schools, including the one I am at, do not send these out anymore. Just stay patient for a month or so, and you will all be fine.

Are you sure because I read a Robertson press release in which it said that last year only one applicant received the scholarship to both schools and got to choose which one she wanted to attend

fsihp, I got a likely, and my midyear report was sent in around the middle of January. I doubt this was much of a factor in making decisions.

HOBNYC- did you end up choosing to accept the Robertson? If so, at which school? If not, why not?

fsihp34: my midyear report was not sent until after I got the letter

When do invitation for scholarships go out, out of curiosity?

Again, look at your letter: You'll find out by mid-March if you were selected to be a scholarship finalist.

does anyone know about the 2007 Black Student Association Invitational??

I would like to know as well. Last year the applicants received it on the 8th of March. Hopefully it will be earlier this year (the likelys were posted out a little earlier).

Wow I just noticed Sudaneya4ever got it. Congrats. I wish my mail would get rerouted to my new address a little faster (in the off chance I snagged one of those likelys).

i just recieved one today!! and apparently, it IS a likely!!!! WOOHOO :)

What date was it postmarked btw?

it was postmarked on feb. 20th

Oh ok. Yet another request> When you log into the online status system for Duke do you see if you have any messages? Just trying to figure out if I can find out IF i even got a likely (because its probably going to take me 6 more days to hear anything back if it was postmarked just two days ago).

no, there are no messages there.. sorry :(

I got an early notificaton and also a huge envelope for the BSAI. It is from March 22-25 today. They were in two different envelopes. I am so excited.

This might be slightly off topic, but why did I get a likely letter from Columbia, and not one from Duke? I applied BME to both, and I thought I did a really good job on both apps. Is there a chance I might still get one? I live in California, if that matters.

Thank you very much.

Who knows? They picked 350 people to get likely letters at Duke. You could have been person #351. Every institution has somewhat different standards; don't think too much of it. Be content with the one you got :)

By the way...Robertson emails go out tomorrow!!! Please post if you get one, even though that would depress me magnificently... :)

I got a likely today! That was a nice surprise. Mine was dated 2/20 as well.
Good luck with Robertson tomorrow, everyone!
