Duke BME vs. Johns Hopkins BME

Hi,

I was accepted to both these programs. I know Duke is ranked #2, JHU ranked #1 in terms of the biomedical engineering department.

Does anyone have any tips on how I should go about making my decision on this issue?

Both are great places..

i have the same problem my friend
it's a hard choice

visit both schools
you'll know which one you like more

Wow congratulations…thats quite an achievement. Honestly, id go check out each university, see Campus life and meet people and teachers. Im sure ull find the right university either way…#1 or #2, now thats not a position lots of kids find themselves in =D

At this point, it’s probably just down to which place you like the best. So visit both and go with your gut.

Graduating from college, which the OP did last May? Yes, I agree.

My personal choice would be Duke, for the weather.

Way to bump a five year old thread. Anyway, for anyone in this position, I think since both programs are superb and close enough in quality, one should make his/her decision based on which school you like more; personally living in Baltimore sucks so I would pick Duke :)

I had this option and chose Duke. Ultimately, what appealed to me was the total package of the school. That being said, name recognition/ranking of Duke was also favorable.

Good choice. Not that I’m biased.

Johns Hopkins.

Johns Hopkins has a reputation of a serious school for real academics. Something that is important to those who hire.

Duke still has that reputation of being the “Playboy” of the top Universities. Might be too much of a distraction with all of those greek parties, etc.

^lol…?

I wonder which university, the OP is graduating from.

I wonder if the OP still gets notifications and emails from CollegeConfidential…
