after looking at other forum posts and seeing the criteria for duke i have become a little anxious as my test scores don’t necessarily match up compared to the average. i’m
wondering if i should even bother applying?

5.04 GPA (on a 6.0 scale)
SAT: 1490
ACT: 33
Quick question, how is it possible to receive a 6.0 GPA. Sorry, I am from California so the grade scale is slightly different here.
well my school ranks classes each on their own scale. in a regular class an A is a 4.0, in an honors class an A is a 5.0, and in an AICE/AP/Dual enrollment class an A is 6.0.
what are your ECs like? are you are URM? Those are good stats, but if you are unhooked Duke will be a reach for you.
Based on stats alone looks like you have a decent shot. However note that only a small portion of the decision is based upon your raw numbers. Intangible factors play a large role. But you stand a good of a chance as anyone else.
