Duke Class of 2020 Waitlist

@yoyohi he emailed me

@sarah14361 My son is still on the wait list as at today on Pratt. Admission officer keep saying ‘:am adding this information to your file’. We need to hear something this weekend as summer programs starts for accepted school in June
sarah14631 what were your selling point during the wait period. Did you send in new information or just waited. were your SAT in 2k or 1.9k. what can help us still on waitlist as at last days in May.

does any know if the list is still open. Is anyone still waiting to hear?

^^ ya I’m also wondering :frowning:

Good morning all, Anything new from Duke waitlist today

another day gone

I wonder why Harvard’s wait list seems more active (at least on College Confidential) than Duke’s?

i wonder too, no word from the admission officer. last day of May

^^ :(.

after June 3 housing contract cancellation penalty at NU goes to $1450

Does anyone know when the waitlist ends?

@IyaYard I’m an international student so I had been in touch with the associate director who was in charge of Asia. I sent an email to the associate director on april 29th saying that I will definitely attend duke if given the chance. After a few emails back and forth about how I am on top of the waitlist, the Dean of undergraduate admissions emailed me saying

I was reviewing the files of some students currently on our waiting list, and I noticed that earlier in the spring you had been in touch with Anne Sjostrom, updating your application and expressing a continued interest in attending Duke.
I know how people can change their minds over time, especially after the May 1 Common Reply Date, so I thought I’d check with you to see if that was still the case, or if you’d become comfortable with your current college plans.
If you could let us know by return email, I’d very much appreciate it.

I replied saying I’m still interested and then he replied

Sarah, thank you again for such a prompt reply. I am glad to hear that you and your family agree on such an important decision. Later today I expect to be sending you some good news; I’d recommend checking your email occasionally.
Thank you again for responding so quickly to my emails!

Then after a few hours, I was accepted to Pratt. I didn’t send any extra information to Duke. I guess they accepted a few more students to Pratt since he said it would be great for me if I accepted the offer quickly so that they could accept more students. My SAT score was 2330 and 800s for 2 subject tests:bio and math2.

@sarah14361 wow good job :slight_smile:

@yoyohi Thank You!

@sarah14361 do you know when all waitlist results will come out?

@sarah14361 , wow wow wow, I can’t believe you were on the waitlist with such an outstanding SAT and Subject test scores.
My son still communicated with the admission officer this week but no promises made. Just that he has to continue to make commitments with the school he has chosen. some are financially binding with penalties. Hmmm

any updates?

@yoyohi nothing new from here, are you are student or parents. @yoyohi what are you plans with or without Duke. Can we rob minds

@IyaYard Hi, I’m a student. I’m planning to go to Berkeley; however, I was recently offered a Transfer Option to Cornell, which gives me the opportunity to get a guaranteed transfer to Cornell in my sophomore year.

@yoyohi wow. you have a great option there, how does the transfer option work, sound like something I would like to look into. Is this common for all school or specific to Cornell. Are you planning to major in engineering. UCB, and Cornell are great ENG schools, But I guess you have a special reason for still wanting Duke
