Hey guys, good luck to everyone! I’m submitting my application today, so I don’t know if I will still get an interview. Will this hurt me?
Lol ok nvm whatever im submitting.
@galacticpepe nah I think the interviewer is more informational, ik lots of ppl who got accepted without an interview.
Ayyy JuicyMango I remember you from a past SAT ll forum lol
I still haven’t received contact for interview either- Floridian
Just had my duke interview. I loved it!! I was so uncomfortable for my MIT interview, but this one was much better. It was only 30 minutes, but I feel that I said everything I needed to say without droning on
I wasn’t planning on applying to Duke, but they just sent me an email saying that they’ve extended their deadline to Jan 8th, and I’m considering applying now. Do you think they’ll still seriously consider me if I submit my application tomorrow?
Did anyone who applied ED attend the summer academy or summer college for high school students? If you did do you think it helped your application at all?
@ghvan99 Yes. Even though it’s nice to get an application in earlier, many people who turn their application in on the day of the deadline still get in.
Did anyone get an email about the deadline extension?
Does anyone know if RD applications all receive admission decisions on April 1 or on rolling basis?
@OHToCollege, almost certainly, Duke will receive all RD decisions on the same day… just like the other highly competitive schools.
^“release” all RD decisions on the same day…
@bluekou23 i am also from Boston and have not been contacted for an interview yet
Hey guys. I applied to Duke for ED and got deferred. I saw on many websites that it is highly recommended to update my application and send in any additional test scores and a letter that talks about any notable activity or award that I have done/received between 11/1 (ED deadline) and now.
I already sent my December SAT score, and I was wondering how I should send the other stuffs like the letter. Also, I did not make any change on Common App(Don’t think it allowed me to), but was I supposed to? :-? Thnx.
My D attended the summer college two years ago and was accepted ED…I believe that not only does it show an interest in attending Duke, it importantly gives the student an opportunity to decide whether Duke feels right for him or her…I can’t speak to the effect it had on the application, but it obviously didn’t hurt.
@argos5 Are you referring to Duke TIP or another program? My daughter attended Duke TIP and is applying to Duke RD. I hope Duke TIP helps. She is also a two generation Duke legacy (grandfather/grandmother undergrad and father graduate school). Fingers crossed.
I have heard great things about TIP, but I was referring to another program for high school students through Duke. Good Luck!!
It is great to be a legacy applicant at a school like Duke! Does it go without saying that for the legacy to be help the applicant (at Duke or similarly ranked school), the family must have made regular donations and/or have been an alumni admissions volunteer interviewer or such?
I’m having my Duke alumni interview in a couple of weeks. I looked my interviewer up, and he is the Democrat representative of the US in France. Needless to say, I am a bit scared.
@Theoddorre Woah that is insane! But, do not worry. Be yourself. As long as you are comfortable and engage in a well conversation then you should be fine
