well… this is kinda early but it’s fine most of us are on the last stretch of Junior Year so I decided to go ahead and start the thread for class of 2022 :)) I guess post stuff that might be beneficial to everyone, questions, advice, application questions, etc ( I guess you can do chance me but tbh none of us can really determine your college decision lol)
Best of luck, everyone. I’m a 21er. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions
Hey!
I’m an international. No standardized test scores yet. So… Best of luck to us!
Anyone applying ED?
Applying through Questbridge (if I become a finalist). But if I don’t then I’ll apply regular decision.
@Yarnweaver I’ll be applying ED!
@maggie325 Cool, I might also!! What’s your favorite and least favorite part of Duke?
i’m forsure applying ed!! i like duke mainly because my dad went there for his mba and i really enjoyed the campus and school spirit when i first visited when i was 12; i’m from california so there isn’t much influence besides that, since in nc its like the ultimate goal to go there. i have a house in chapel hill (which is relatively close to durham) and am doing an internship here, which is another reason why i like it so much. they give a lot of opportunities to students and really promote student and faculty interaction, which is what i’m used to since i go to a small prep school. it’s also the best public policy school in the nation, which is what i want to major in. the only thing i might not like is the weather, like i said, i’m from california, so compared to nc, it rains a lot more, and also students have to live on campus for three years, which will leave me in a lot of debt after college. gl on the admissions process everyone, and i hope this helped a little about some stuff i know about the school
also, at duke, they look at everyone’s application twice so they don’t miss anything special about someone, and if there’s any legacies, our app gets looked at three times instead of twice
duke is also very into community service, so ik its last minute but if anyone really wants to go above and beyond, i would say do a service project that is related to your major!! also the “why duke” question is one of the most crucial on your app so spend extra time on that one!!
bump
I’m very interested in this school. It’s really everything I wanted.
Does anyone know if my chance of acceptance will increase since one of my references will be a Duke graduate who I
formed a tight bond with? I didn’t even know he went at first until recently.
Has anyone submitted their application for ED?
I have submitted for ED…nervous but excited!
Me! You want to chat?
Applying all the way from East Africa!

I just applied for ED for Duke. Do you guys think a 680 sat physic would hurt me? I don’t have time to relearn all the materials again in November.

Hello…I would not advise you to send anything below a 700+…it would hurt you than help you. Especially to the Pratt school of engineering, they expect 750+ scores…with many scorers above 700+, it wouldn’t be wise to send a score lower to any top 15-20 universities in the US.
How do we submit the first quarter grades report? CommonApp?
