Anyone have the dates/times when decisions have been sent out in previous years?
@syd24ranger If you get one of their big scholarships, you will get a letter in early March, as well as if you get a BSAI invite. Everyone else should receive one late March or early April by 4 or 5 ET. Date has fluctuated in the past.
@Pastpower thanks! Do they only send decisions by mail?
Colleges say by April but always release before then.
@syd24ranger No, it should be an online portal update type thing for RD applicants. Scholarship finalists get a personal email. Duke has also been known to send out likely letters in the past, not sure how prevalent that is though.
@Pastpower The only “likely letters” I’ve heard of Duke sending out is BSAI
@MaybeHarvard2022 2 students at my high school got likely letters from Duke, but this was back in 2012 so maybe they don’t do it anymore.
@syd24ranger last year it was on March 29th which was the last Wednesday of the month. That means it could coincide with Ivy Day this year (since Yale email said admissions are out on the 28th)
Anyone here/know a Reginaldo Howard scholar? I’m really hoping I can at least be considered for finals.
Does anybody unremarkable get in without a 4.0 average?
@giantoctopus Not unless you’re an uber-hooked URM, first-gen, or recruited athlete
Depends on your definition of “unremarkable” which could be different than the schools assessment.
@syd24ranger Where did you hear that the UNC EA OOS acceptance rate was 2.3%? That is kinda low?
Highly doubt that’s true. UNC OOS is not that competitive.
I’m an in-state student and I got admitted to UNC and got assured admission to the Kenan-Flagler Business Program. But I’m still hoping I can get into Duke. The stress is too real, I can’t wait for decisions to come out.
My daughter (in-state) has been accepted to Clemson, NC State, University of Virginia and UNC (merit scholarship and invite to Honors College). Waiting to hear from Duke (her first choice). No interview as of yet.
@MaybeHarvard2022 I beg to differ. UNC OOS is extremely difficult. As a public school, UNC is mandated to have 82% of their incoming class be in-state residents. Therefore, with approximately a 26% overall acceptance rate, the acceptance rate for OOS students would be roughly 4.68%.
@plsletmein22 Ok. thanks for the info.
@plsletmein22 According to the Fall 2017 Class Profile on the UNC website, the OOS acceptance rate was 14%. Still very competitive, but not 4-5%.
Anyone know when they release regular decision decisions?
