Am I definetly getting rejected?
I’m so mad at myseld. Im so bad at standardized tests
How much harder is it to get into Pratt than Trinity? My EC’s aren’t great, especially in relation to my school…however, I have good stats and I’m a female applying for engineering (BME/civil engineering).
@rosaliefontaine Pratt is a tough nut to crack, many cases harder than Trinity, but being a female gives you a bit of a boost there. All really depends how on how you conveyed yourself in your writing and your recs and whether your interview added anything. Best of luck!!
@Pastpower Didn’t get an interview though I applied by the 20th and indicated that I wanted one. Also, my common app essay was very personal and didn’t discuss my passions/EC’s at all, so that isn’t great. Oh well. Thanks for the reply!
@rosaliefontaine you just described my application. So far I’ve gotten into schools I shouldn’t have gotten into due to my rather unimpressive ECs (especially compared to everyone else’s). I think my essays, GPA, and SAT scores are the factors tilting the boat in my favor. I waived my right to read the recommendations and I regret that now because I don’t know if those are providing substantial support to my applications. My mindset going into Thursday is thinking I won’t get in, but hoping for a pleasant surprise.

hey, does anyone know what percentage/how many people get in to Duke specifically Pratt when they were deferred ED?
Hey guys! Has anyone heard of someone getting into Duke with a 30 ACT (lower end score), high GPA, strong essays, and average extracurricular activities (some leadership roles) who’s not a URM (I doubt Asians count since they make up 20% of Duke’s pop), legacy, or athlete? Also, does Duke try to accept people from every state?

On Friday, I received a likely letter from Duke and an invitation to their FOCUS program! Does Duke normally send out likely letters like other institutions? Completely out of the blue.

LSRW=Latino Students Recruitment Weekend
Tbh I wanna get into Duke so I can cop all the sick merch.
Anyone know the stats regarding the acceptance rate of latino students not invited to LSRW? It’s illogical to think they would invite all latino students accepted since that would be over 400 (based on last years stats), but I am still worried. If anyone has stats on this or regarding BSAI I would be very grateful.
Pretty discouraged about Duke because I got rejected from USC and Georgetown today :(( but let’s see … can only hope for the best
