Duke Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

My parent tax returns plus W2s are still missing on the SISS portal lol (all the docs have been processed on the IDOC for at least a week)… I’m really concerned bc I feel like getting into duke and not being able to pay for it is even worse than getting rejected. I called the fin aid office and they said that you’ve done what you done and that the financial aid estimation could be delayed by up to a week after decisions (assuming I magically get in) which sucks but oh well.

Should I be concerned??

@junior1818 I wouldn’t be worried if the finaid office people told you that you’d done all you could. it took almost a week for my w-2 and parent fed tax returns to be processed and appear on my portal, so it might just be taking a few more days for yours. otherwise, the finaid office may just not have linked the files with your finaid file yet (that’s what happened with my css profile until about a week ago)

I got that too @Jigglewig

Anyone got any email about when decisions are being released?

I’m going to assume no advance notice email will be sent and decisions will just come out anytime next week?

@reppinthe803 we might get the email today for decisions to come out on the 15th, but I wouldn’t count on it 100%

maybe we won’t get an email in advance? my friend applied EA to stanford and got no notification that results were coming out today.

Can’t imagine that Duke won’t send an email in advance - they always seem to do that. I bet it will be tonight advising that decisions will be next Friday, 12/15

When you guys applied to Duke, was there a spot on the application to indicate whether you were a first-gen college student, or no? I went back through and saw nothing.

They look at your parents’ education section.

What determines a first-gen college student? My mom has some college but never graduated. I’m assuming I wouldn’t be considered one since she did go to college.

I think when your parents did not graduate from college.

When neither parent graduated college, you are considered first generation. Typically this means a 4-year college.

I think that still counts as first-gen but it’s not as important of a factor as you think @alicat937

I’m getting so nervous. Where’s the email??

My college counselor told me that there is a good chance that decisions will come out on Thursday, but we should expect a heads up email 24-48 hours before decisions come out.

What the actual hell is duke doing with my feelings? Im on edge

i JUST WANT AN EMAIL. ANY TYPE OF EMAIL. JUST TO KNOW IF THEYRE ALIVE

tf I just wanna know whats going on I’LL TAKE ANYTHING

yall slept on me too hard, i have the power
