Anyone here who got off the Duke waitlist is an international student? Have they only yet given WL offers to US students or have any internationals also gotten in?
I was wondering about this too. @intInavigator I am not familiar with any of this but from what I have found on Duke’s website and in the Duke Chronicle it sounds as if the AOs try to “replace” the individual people. So I that think our nationality is not the biggest factor they consider. They are probably looking at our personal qualities and interests. But as I stated earlier, I am as clueless and desperate (constantly checking my inbox, procrastinating whether my AO received everything and whether I am still on her mind etc…) as most people here - probably even worse because I am international student. Let’s just hope for the best for all of us! I‘ll keep my fingers crossed and hope to see you in the fall!

Also, wouldn’t nationality also probably be a factor (speculation: based on my research)? Many universities usually admit around an approximate number of people from each country/ region in order to maintain geographic diversity of the incoming class. Nationality may play a role if, say, many people from a particular country who were offered admission deny it. I am merely speculating, but just hoping for the best!!
