Duke Early Decision Premature Chance Me?

Hey all!

So I’m starting to approach the midway point in my second semester as a junior, and I wanted to get your input really early on as to whether or not I have a chance come August when I begin applying. If everything goes as planned this year here’s what my scores and GPA should end up looking like:

Unweighted GPA: 3.71 (3.5 freshman year, 3.66 sophomore year, 4.0 junior year)
Weighted GPA (out of 6.0): 4.91 (4.5 freshman year, 4.75 sophomore year, 5.5 junior year)

SAT I: 1570 (new scale)
ACT: 35
SAT II: 780 Math II; 790 Physics

APs: AP Human Geography (3), AP Psychology (5), AP United States History, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Macroeconomics, AP Language and Composition.

Senior Course Load (what I have signed up for): AP Computer Science Principles, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Environmental Science, AP Comparative Government

Extracurriculars:

Volunteering: 130 hours
Work Experience: Camp counselor at the local YMCA, worked in a lab for cancer research.
Clubs: Science Club (Club officer), TSA (Vice President), Mu Alpha Theta Honors Society (Secretary), Rho Kappa Honors Society.
Hooks: Legacy! My brother currently goes to Duke.

Assume when I apply my reccomendations, essays, interview etc. are all stellar. But also be 100% honest. Duke is my dream school but I’d rather know now that I cannot get in than getting my hopes up when I apply and then hearing back that I got denied.

Thanks!

Test scores are strong, UW GPA might be an issue. Could go either way.

I know, I made a LOT of mistakes freshman year by not focusing on school. Wish I could go back and change it but unfortunately I don’t have a time machine :-S

I don’t think siblings count as legacy

They do I believe. My friend went to Harvard and his sister’s mom is a college counselor who reported her chance increased and gave me the percentage. I don’t recall how much but it was substantial.

Yep siblings do count as legacy! May not be as significant as parents but I am still a legacy applicant (that is, when I apply)
