Duke Early Decision Roster

i know! that is, where are you from?

umm between north and central virginia... haha if that makes any sense.. 45 minutes from washington, yet we are designated rural as a school district.

I'm from Charlotte, NC:) Probably not the only North Carolinian on this board...I hope the fact that Duke likes their home state works to my advantage.

Me too loveduke22! I'm from Elon, about an hour and a half from you.
Got my Oct. ACT score back, I got a 32, still not great, but atleast now it is competitive (was a 28).

wow, yeah i think they do give a certain advantage to nc residents?

mmm how did u get your october score?

the whole "do nc residents get an advantage" thing is debateable.... yes, Duke is required by its charter to admit a large proportion of NC residents, and the largest number of Duke students from any one state is from NC. But I would also say that it really depends on what region you're from. From what I've gathered, in some areas of NC it is nearly impossible to get into Duke unless you're at the very top because so many apply, while in other areas, you're almost guaranteed admission if you meet the minimum requirements. Overall though, state doesn't matter a whole lot.

bsbllstr8, it cost $8 but for my own peace of mind it was worth it, go to act.org, student, early scores, and type in your information and test date

ive been trying all day and it wont work.

did you try using your ACT Code rather than your social security #, I had a a little problem with that.

well it wont even let me on that part of the site, it just sells me the service is down.

mmmmm... I'm not sure then.

There are no scores for you from the October 23, 2004 national administration. It takes longer for some scores to become available. Scores will be added weekly throughout processing as quickly as situations such as Standby registrations, late receipt of answer sheets, or inconsistent identifying information are resolved. Please try again in a week.

Yeah, I agree with ay_caramba on the location thing. My location is kind of debatable because I'm in the Charlotte area with school like Charlotte Latin which send a crapload of people to Ivies/Duke/Top 25's every year, but then again I'm in Union County which isn't exactly known for it's stellar education and whatnot, so we'll see.

DAsh- that's pretty cool about Elon:) I'm actually appying to Elon U as my safety. It's an absolutely beautiful school.

I finally got my ACT score... 30composite... 35m, 27s, 29e, 28r, and yes i know i messed up the last 3... is this still decent for duke? I have a 1350SAT and 30ACT, 780math IIC? hows it look?

I was informed that Duke posts admission decisions on it's website. 1 - Is this true? and 2 - When is this done?

id like to know the same.

Yes, I dunno the date for ED, but it was April 2ndish last year (I remember they delayed it a day)

I'm not sure of the exact date that Duke will post its decisions online, but I know for certain that they do. The duke rep that came to my school told me it was December 1st, but then another one I talked to on the phone said december 15th. From what I've read, we are supposed to be notified by mail no later than the 15th, so I'm thinking that Dec. 1st is the date the decisions are posted online.

PS. Does anyone know where duke posts the decisions? Is it in the "Check my status" box on the admissions website?
