Duke (Economics), Carnegie Mellon (Tepper), UMich (Ross), or UNC (Kenan-Flagler) For Undergrad?

I want to go into business and finance, and I think I am leaning towards investment banking but am not quite sure. Which school would be the best in terms of education and opportunities (internships, programs, etc) and also recruiting and job placement? Also want some sort of well-roundedness in the field of business in case I don’t choose investment banking.
*All the costs are similar except for UNC, which will be mostly free for me, if this makes a difference.

UNC (almost free) is a wonderful opportunity. Their business school is highly regarded and many graduates work on Wall Street. If Duke is affordable to your family, then that is another option, if you prefer a private school environment.

The “almost free” aspect may be the dominant consideration depending upon the COA at your other schools.

If cost were a non-issue, then Duke & Michigan would be the two to consider for IB placement as well as for overall internship & job placement.

Duke is an excellent choice for Wall Street.

Personally, I would place them in the following order:

1). Duke
2). Ross
3). CMU/UNC

What a surprise.

OP

UNC for free versus what costs at the others?

Assuming you like all both Duke and UNC campus life etc.

If only a marginal difference or money is completely not an issue, Duke would position you best at the margins.

If it’s 100k or more type difference and it will be a stretch in any way, UNC b school all day long.

A mostly free UNC Kenan-Flagler degree (top 10)? Beautiful campus, public ivy, some of the best sports you can find, amazing college town, close to RTP…its a no brainer in my opinion.
