What do you mean update name?
Since it says: “Application information updates will not be available through your portal as we finalize our admission decisions. If you need to update your application information, please contact us at 919-684-3214 after you receive your admission decision.” I think it’s like that for everyone and doesn’t mean anything.
Ok gotcha thank you! I didn’t remember what it said before in that spot so I didn’t notice a change
Did anyone’s checklist disappear? I mean grades, scores, recommendations, school reports and etc
yeah, it happened a few days ago
Thanks!
Duke just posted on their Instagram pages. It’s getting close y’all. I probably won’t be able to sleep tonight.
I think it happened for almost everyone the day they sent out the email
just got deferred from tulane, so now i feel horrible about tomorrow !!
I’m in the same situation
same, but don’t lose hope!
If you don’t mind can you share your stats.
because i don’t wanna flood this discussion with stats, i’ll do a more in depth one once there’s a thread for decisions/stats, but just a quick summary: 3.95UW/5.1W GPA, 1560 SAT, unique ECs
it was prob yield protection cuz I got in with lower stats
Did you demonstrate interest? If not, futurebluedev is probably right that it was yield protection.
yeah the only demonstrated interest i showed was the Why Tulane essay, which barely counts
yeah thats probably why. I did an interview and went to a few virtual events.
That’s all that I did too, but I didn’t know it barely counts, especially if a lot of effort and detail was put into the essay. You shouldn’t be too worried, because on the Tulane EA forum, there are a lot of very qualified applicants who also got deferred whose main problem was not demonstrating much interest, so your Tulane decision probably can’t indicate what your Duke decision will be.
yeah you guys don’t worry about it. In fact the fact that Tulane thought you were so overqualified that you wouldn’t go there is probs a good sign for yall.
I did not get into Tulane either which was incredibly disappointing, especially considering my stats and that my sister currently attends. Clearly it is a strategy intended to either boost their yield rates and/or earn more money from ED I/II applicants. Huge congratulations to all those that were admitted, but for those that were not, this means nothing about your character or stats, but rather how the university chooses to play their cards in order to ensure whatever gains they are seeking.
