My parents got divorced when i was 8 years old, and ever since then I have had to change schools and states every 6 months. So i have moved around A LOT during highschool and it was fine freshman year, but sophomore year it was not. For the first semester of sophomore year i went to a block schedule school, and the second semester i went to a 6 period school. Since i moved halfway through the year, i was forced to take only semester non - academic classes</p>

<p>You have a good act score and good sat 2 scores as well. It seems like you’re successful as a website designer and a tutor! If you mention your hardships to Duke, and explain everything they need to know, they’ll probably understand your situation. Also, your senior year course load looks great. I think you might have a chance, but I would say it’s a low reach for Duke.

<p>You have good chances from what I know of Duke. Superficial things wise, you should be set. There is nothing you can change about the past and if you eloquently convey those hardships to Duke, I think you should be fine. I am not a genius or a duke student, just a helpful hopeful. :slight_smile: Good luck, maybe we will see each other there if we are lucky (not that you need to be lucky, your scores are beautiful)</p>

<p>You have great stats! Your school-related ECs are good, but your work and charity are more interesting. The weak second semester isn’t your fault, so as long as it’s explained properly, there shouldn’t be a problem.</p>

<p>I think you have as good of a chance as most people as Duke; you’re qualified. It’s still hard to get again, but I think you’ve got a shot. Being Hispanic might help, if only by making sure they give you a second look.</p>

<p>id say duke is a match for you especially if you are doing early decision. it wont matter what happened soph year but you should still try and explain it in your essay or something but the rest of your grades kind of cancel it out. you are a really good applicant and good luck!</p>
