^How was it? Did she get any “gotcha questions” (don’t want to end up sounding like Sarah palin haha)

Just pretty much had a conversation. Just talked about her interests, favorite classes, hobbies, and why she wanted to go to Duke. No gotcha questions whatsoever. My daughter said that the interviewer was super nice and answered any questions about Duke. Didn’t ever try to trip her up or ask any off the wall questions. So don’t be nervous! :)

okay, guess she got lucky with the quick turnaround. Hope I get a call some time next week, I turned in on the 18th.

I turned in both my common app and supplement in on September 29, but still no call for an interview…

Hmmm…I know that they say they will offer interviews to everyone that they can. Maybe there are no interviewers in your area or maybe they are overwhelmed. In which state are you located?

I have a 2200 SAT

3.9 UW GPA, 4.0 W (Doesn’t go above 4.0)

Rigorous Schedule

Bad EC’s: Newspaper, Yearbook, Running, Squash (First Year my school has a team)
I wish I had started serious squash earlier because it seems unique enough to help me on my application.
-Recommendations and essays are going to be good, but I chose a unique topic for one essay so it could be a hit or miss depending on who reads it. Hopefully, the reader takes bias out of his/her judgement because I chose to write about a rapper’s life.
-SAT II’s: Taking them next week, but I know US History well, and I’m good at English so literature should be decent as long as the curve doesn’t kill me.

I visited just last weekend and I loved it so much that I decided to do ED… hopefully it was fate that I apply now because my dad didn’t even want to visit, yet I convinced him and now I love it ^^ I posted my stats because the next time I post it will be to tell you if I got in or not

Good luck folks

^ I think you have a great chance so don’t worry so much lol

I turned my supplement in on the 13th and I still haven’t gotten an interview yet. I know there are alumni in my area because I know 2 people in my area who already scheduled theirs…

Theres still time so I’m not too worried about it!

I applied early decision for Duke, submitted all my application sections by the 20th…I hope I get an interview…still haven’t been called eek! I’m sending my transcripts today because my school was slow as fuhh getting my service hours on it…thank god they only have to be post marked by the first!

I am beyond scared. My SAT score is SO LOW, below 2000.
Which is really , because I’m in the top 5% of my very competitive HS.
I really hope my grades, ECs, recs and essays make up for my awful SAT I score. :(

Good luck to everyone! Hope we get in :)

PS I’m having my interview this Thursday!

I’m from FL and applying ED! Best of luck to all of you guys; it’s been an arduous process for all of us I think.

Also, I have my interview tmrw!

My daughter submitted her app on Oct 14th, just was called on Oct 27th for her interview. It will be this coming Sat, the 5th, will post the details after!

The time for speculation has officially begun…it appears Duke has sent out emails to all ED applicants today that they have received their applications.

Duke reported receiving more than 2700 ED applications for the class of 2016…an increase of over 500 from the 2200 ED apps last year.

@PragmaticDad where did you find those numbers?

[Early decision applications see 23 percent increase | The Chronicle](http://dukechronicle.com/article/early-decision-applications-see-23-percent-increase)

Duke issued a press release with those numbers…it is on the web site under news.

I encourage anyone ED to Duke this year to scan/read the Duke 2015 ED thread…it is interesting and reads like a play…full of angst, speculation and drama. I wish the best to everyone…and hope everyone has also found a school that they want to attend and have a great chance of getting into.
As I tell my son, Duke is a great opportunity, but it is a reach school for everyone. Most importantly, whether you are admitted or not, acceptance at Duke is NOT a judgement about who you are or your value.

Well, this increase certainly may explain the difficulty/lateness of arranging interviews for ED folk with Duke alums.

ahh the duke 2015 ED thread…good times…
