@Lift35 : No, they do not.
@bluedog Since the first term exam of my senior year in my school just ended and I won’t get results until mid-december (We have a long holiday in the middle), my counselor sent an official prediction for the grades in that exam as first quarter grades. Will that fulfill the requirement?
@Shulav : I don’t know. Give admissions a call. If your school doesn’t release first quarter grades, not sure what more you could do and I would think Duke would understand that dilemma and not penalize you unfairly.
I’m assuming the applicant ID’s aren’t issued over the weekends because the office is closed? I submitted an app on Thursday and have yet to receive one, which is a little worrying.
I probably shouldn’t send Duke my SAT as well if my subject tests weren’t at least 700 correct?
When I contacted Duke, they said if you send in your ACT, and want them to consider your SAT subject tests, you have to send your SAT Reasoning Test as well. They said they don’t consider the subject tests without the SAT test. So if your subject tests are (in your opinion) low, then I wouldn’t send in anything. Or if you sent everything, they’d just consider the highest scores. I just sent all my test scores because my guidance counselor put them on my transcript anyways (but idk if this is the case for everyone).
I wonder how many people are applying to Duke ED this year. It looks like this page has gotten a lot of views, but maybe that’s because I have clicked on it a lot.
@Mango920452 my SAT superscored is a 2200 but if I sent that, i’d have to send my subject tests as well. 630 in Chem and 690 in Math 2 which to me are very very low so I only sent my 33 ACT
There are 5+ students from my school alone applying
@Lift35 oh wow, that’s a lot. But I’d imagine if you were in a large school, or in a state that gets a lot of applicants (NC, NY, CA,FL) that would not be uncommon. I live in the Midwest, so everyone here is only concerned about UChicago. I’m an international living in the US though, so I’m afraid that will hurt my chances. I’m not applying for aid though, so at least I don’t have need-aware admissions.
@Mango920452 I go to a large public school in FL. It kind of worries me that there are about 6-7 ED applicants including me. They normally only take 1-2 kids
Does anyone know when the school-counselor agreement form in the Common App HAS to be in by?
Has to be in by today.
How will I know if my CSS Profile and test scores were received on time? On my Duke account it says those haven’t been received yet, which is kind of worrying me since I submitted all of those Wednesday
I applied on Friday night and I haven’t gotten log in information yet… Is that just because it’s the weekend? But I also applied to another school on saturday and got information this morning???
Also, what is the CSS profile and do we have to complete it?
@a1h313 it’s through CollegeBoard and yes if you are applying for financial aid
Haven’t received mine either @a1h313 and I also sent in my application on Friday.
@a1h313 @anxiousenior1 I just emailed my regional admissions officer with these concerns. When I receive a reply I will comment ASAP!
@Lift35 thanks!
