I am more than a bit surprised that a net price calculator led you to expect a $4000 contribution and you are “thrilled” with a $15000 contribution- am I missing something???

Congrats SFM!!! I am glad that it all worked out.

Bhmomma, we were told that since our assets are not typical for our income, that the calculator wold not be exact. And, I was hasty in stating $15k. Our EFC is actually $10,500, D has $2k in work study, and they expect a $1k loan. The grant basically covers the cost of tuition, and the room, board and personal expenses are up to us. We do have money in the Florida Prepaid college program for the first year of the dorm, and it will give us about $3k per year in addition.

Thanks for all the congrats, we are still in shock, but so happy!!
