Essays+Recs
I consider myself a pretty strong writer. My common app essay was really unique and unexpected according to my counselor. Supplements are solid as well.
Rec Letters-One from english teacher, one from world history: both should be solid: additional rec from Mayor

I would be careful with listing your ECs if I were you. It seems as though you have a lot on your plate and it won’t bode well when schools are trying to evaluate how committed you actually were to each EC.

Cornell looks really good for you. Northwestern may be difficult even if you have good chances because of how competitive it is.

a good of a shot as anyone else

all of those schools are similarly competitive to get into but given your stats would say you have a shot

Only do ED if you are set on that school - I would apply EA to a bunch of schools; its always good to have multiple options

Way too many EC listed. Shorten the list to only the most important.

Your ECs are cookie cutter Asian. However are you LGQBT?

Scores and grades look good.

I would bet that you get into Duke ED, so I guess the rest you won’t have to worry about!

thanks for all the feedback guys, send me your links and I’ll chance you:)

definitely very competitive for all …you will get into atleast one of the top schools no doubt…so u can relax

chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1816389-please-help-chance-and-suggest-schools-to-a-female-in-computer-science.html#latest

First off, how did you get a 5.75? I thought the Highest one could get weighted was a 5.33

Most of those schools don’t EA anymore which is a shame. They only ED

Your grades are stellar. I say just send your 3’s. If you don’t send them, it looks like you got a 2 or 1 on them. WH 710 ain’t bad. Might as well send it if your spending 25 bucks on sending your scores. They say to shorten your list, but I say simplify don’t short. There’s 5 slots for honors and 10 slots of activities on common app.

All those schools are highly competitive. They’re reaches but they’re manageable reaches. Even the best students have those schools as reaches. You’ll definitely get into one of those schools.

My tip: Grab a safety school just in case. You don’t want to get screwed over by fate

haha i have some safeties–just didn’t post them. Different schools/districts have different UW systems–mine’s out of a 6.0 scale. Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it–leave a link if you want me to chance:)

Thanks!!

How does your school’s scale work again? Is the unweighted GPA out of 4?

yeah the uw is out of a 4.0 system and the w is out a 6.0

Berkeley’s local and a lot of kids from my school get in with stats like yours. i definitely think you have a great shot at berkeley! i would agree with you on not sending in your 3’s but world history with a 710 isnt too bad - you might as well. pretty good chances with rice and vanderbilt too; don’t know too much about the others…

You are a match for all of those schools! Your scores and EC’s are good enough to give you a great chance at all of the schools you mentioned. If only I scored that high haha. Can you chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1815582-chances-at-cornell-ed-and-upenn.html#latest

Your GPA weighted is freaking Insane!!! My school does it on a 6 scale too and the valedictorian has a 5.01 and she has only gotten 1 B. You seem to have everything a college would want and beyond. Honestly, the competition is tough and many universities have certain quotas. But, you are well over qualified for all the schools on your list. I wish you the best of luck

I think you have a great shot everywhere! (Georgetown is a bit of reach as a poli sci major–but it is for everyone). I wish you the best of luck

I think you have a great shot at most places. going ed on duke is a major plus

Your profile looks good. I agree you should streamline your ECs as listing so many can look at best uncommitted and worst, embellished. You have enough there too show commitment if you display it correctly! Good luck!

Ps: do you suppose all 2500 Duke ED apps are posting on CC? >:D<

How is listing all those EC’s a bad thing for him? He has 10 but none of them look like he barely put in effort. Just asking for the sake of knowledge!
