Well my ACT score was with absolutely no prep, just as a test run, so I’m doing prep now so I’m expecting at least a 3 point increase. And my GPA is going up every semester. So by the time I apply my gpa and act should be higher. How much does legacy status help with Duke? My dad went to undergraduate and grad school there.

Look, it is becoming more and more challenging to get accepted these days and with your scores it may be difficult especially at these top universities. I think all of those schools are reaches except Richmond. Sorry, just an honest opinion.

I’m alot like you, same kinda grades and upward trends, way less EC’s though (blame it on the basketball)30 on my ACT, URM (i’m assuming your URM because you said Arab American). Literally the same schools too (Vandy, Emory, Northwestern and Duke in consideration).
Id say:

Match/Low Reach: Richmond, Maryland, Emory, Tufts
Reach: Michigan, Rice, Duke (legacy)
High Reach: Northwestern, Vandy

Vanderbilt and Northwestern are just a really hard to get into. URM status (don’t know exactly if you have it though) makes alot of assumptions fly out the window.

Your GPA/scores are a bit lacking. I see you’re from a competitive school so you’re GPA might be understandably on the lower side, but your ACT/SAT scores should be high then. If you want to be competitive for these schools, aim for a 32+ ACT and a 2200+ SAT. Also, work to get that GPA up as high as possible. I will say that your ECs look great; international service, captain of XC, editor of yearbook AND newspaper!

Here’s what I’d say for these schools; keep in mind that if you get your scores up you’ll become much more competitive:
Duke ED: reach
Tufts: reach
Emory: reach
Vanderbilt: reach
URichmond: reach
UMichigan: reach
NU: reach
UMD: match
Rice: reach

My advice to you: most of these become low reaches/high matches once your scores improve. Study hard!
