Summer Programs:
This is a state-funded month-long program where I studied flight science at Appalachian State University for 4 weeks. I learned about the effects of air resistance and drag coefficient, as well as lift, thrust, and gravity, on the flight of a rocket in order to achieve maximum apogee and flight time. For my final product, I successfully designed a model rocket that achieved a maximum apogee of over 300 meters and a flight time of 26 seconds (this was completed through the use of a recovery system that deployed as predicted in test flights), as well as the composition of a paper that described the physics behind its construction and an in-depth analysis of the data.

Bump please?

Duke ED - I think you’re probably in. Your GPA and SATs match up pretty well.
Vanderbilt ED II - Match.
Princeton - Reach.
UPenn - Match.
Emory - Low Match.
Johns Hopkins - Match.
UNC-CH (in-state) - Match.
Case Western Reserve - Safety.
UVA (OOS) - Match.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1004685-chance-meee-i-will-chance-back-bu-gwu-uconn.html</a></p>

Thanks! I chanced you back.
Anyone else?

Duke ED - I’d say you’re in! I agree with jayeen, everything matches up
Vanderbilt ED II - Match
Princeton - Mid-Reach
UPenn - Match!
Emory - Low Match
John Hopkins - Mid-Match
UNC-CH - Lowwwww match. (your stats are way beyond their class profile. jealous!)
UVA - Match
Case Western Reserve - never heard of it :/

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1004809-chances-unc-nyu-more-please.html</a></p>

Thanks! Also chanced you back
Anyone else?

Bump please?

Good shot at Duke - however I wouldnt go as far as saying “Yeah, your in!” like the others here (thats not a shot at those posters). Your qualified, now it just comes down to who they are looking for, and if you get lucky.

Duke ED - as much as I hated the school when I visited it, Your in… Well atleast an increadibly good shot
If that doesn’t work out…
Vanderbilt ED II - better shot than duke
Princeton - mid reach
UPenn - low/mid reach
Emory - in
Johns Hopkins - match
UNC-CH (in-state) - in
NC State (in-state) - massive saftey
Case Western Reserve - never heard of it
Georgia Teach (OOS) - easy
UVA (OOS) - still say very very good shot

UVAorbust what did you hate about Duke? Durham is beautiful and the campus is amazing.

Thanks NCBoy1 and UVAorBust!

Seniorxcbro…do I know you? You’re user name sounds like something a friend of mine would have

jayeen and pchs seem misinformed. Almost no one is a “match” at UPenn; if I don’t see an international award, then it isn’t the case. Perhaps they are mistaking it for Penn State–UPenn is Ivy League.

I think your profile, however, is strong across the board. Your ECs seem cluttered on the surface, but if you can show an underlying dedication or thread, then it will help you significantly.

I very rarely “linear chance”, that is, just slap on chances for colleges, but given the general theme on here, I will:

Duke ED: Low Reach (because of ED, potentially high match)
If that doesn’t work out…
Vanderbilt ED II: Can’t say
Princeton: Reach
UPenn: Reach
Emory: Match to high match
Johns Hopkins: high match (low reach?)
UNC-CH (in-state): Don’t know enough, can’t say
NC State (in-state): Don’t know enough, can’t say
Case Western Reserve: safety
Georgia Teach (OOS): Don’t know enough, can’t say
UVA (OOS): match

I do tend to judge on the pessimistic side; it’s a function of my personality, but I’d wait for more qualified chancers if I were you.

Duke ED: Should be in
Vanderbilt ED: no clue
Princeton - low reach
UPenn-fair reach
Emory- no clue
John Hopkins - good match
rest I cant say

chance me back pls!

Lol your stats are basically identical to mine, I’m also applying to Duke ED.

Have you confirmed that Duke super scores the ACT?

They consider the subscores but they don’t generate a new composite score, whatever that means.

^I agree with dd1993. They don’t technically create a new composite score, but they’ll see the highest subscores, which are very solid. I just put the superscore there for other schools on the list that may calculate a superscored composite.

Thanks for the responses!
Anyone else? I’ll chance back!

Bump please?

Vanderbilt ED II - Target
Princeton - Reach
UPenn - High Target/Low Reach
Emory - Low Target
Johns Hopkins - High Target
UNC-CH (in-state) - Target
Case Western Reserve - Safety
UVA (OOS) - Target

You have a really good shot at duke since i think you’re above average for nearly everything

minor weaknesses = math scores (thats gonna hurt if ur planning on doing something in math) and the lack of ec activity in 9th/10th
otherwise solid app overall

Thanks!
Anyone else?
