Duke field hockey recruit

Anyone have any idea what unweighted GPA and SAT score you need to be a field hockey recruit at Duke? Also do they care if you have taken honors and AP's?

What’s your current file?

Are you being recruited by Duke? Are you being offered an athletic scholarship? If so then the coaches can give you the details of the process.

Typically, but not always, the process is something like: Coaches will be alloted a certain number of ‘no questions asked’ applications - These are very limited and typically are only given to a major sport. At Duke I would guess the basketball program gets a few and maybe the football team. Second, there are athletic team flagged files. These are recruits that the athletic department has designated as being interested in. Depending on the school and the team, admissions standards are sometimes ‘relaxed’ for these recruits but you still have to be in the neighborhood statistically speaking. Preferred walk-ons are athletes that are encouraged to come out for the team after/if they are admitted.

That’s the basic structure, though schools approach things slightly differently.

But it does seem like 3.8/2200, though.

I know kids who are getting into Ivies playing field hockey with scores a lot lower than that. Getting in with SAT’s in the 1900’s and 3.4 to 3.7 unweighted GPA’s

So I just thought Dukes would be lower than the Ivies.

But it is best to get the academic credentials that could get one in without having to rely on athletics.

Duke is more selective than Cornell, and attract the kind of students that get into Brown, even UPenn.

I completely understand, but if you are a high shool all american/ futures national field hockey player you are going to use your athletics to get you into a college that you could not get in with grades alone.

So I am looking for a field hockey player who went to Duke who can enlighten me on what you actually needed to get a recruited spot.
