Duke offered me financial aid. My question is- will they continue to give about the same amount for the remaining years? I've heard that they are initially generous to entice you but then significantly reduce the amount after freshmen year. I would like to know if this is true (or what you have heard) and what your experience with Duke financial aid has been.

bump! bump!

Why not look around on the Duke site itself? More direct answers, not so much hearsay:

I have never heard of a college reducing their aid. Duke is very consistent with their aid awards - based on FAFSA (which you renew every year, I’m pretty sure) and the CSS Profile they will give you the amount you NEED, and cap the loans at $5,000 every year.

Colleges that don’t guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need may reduce their aid. Also colleges may increase the loan portion of their aid.
