Hey everybody,
Does Duke’s mascot have a name? Is it “Blue Devil”? “The Blue Devil”? “Dukie”?
Just curious for essay purposes.

Ok thanks! So in an essay I would perhaps right “I saw Blue Devil”? Just an example.
Not “I saw The Blue Devil”?

“I saw the Blue Devil” would be the way to go. “I saw Blue Devil” sounds very odd. It doesn’t really have a name like Brutus of Ohio State. I might even say “I saw the Blue Devil mascot”…depends on the context on the rest of your sentence.

I’d thing it’s “I saw blue devil.” Blue devil should be interchangeable with a name/noun.

Let’s say my name is john. “I saw john at the mall” or “I saw the john at the mall”.
