Duke or Berkeley

I've been accepted to both and am NOT a CA resident (will pay same amount as a private school). I've always loved Berkeley's vibe, but I hear that because of budget cuts, over-crowdedness, waitlists for classes, not enough student-teacher attention, and a bureaucratic administration, maybe Berkeley isn't the way to go.

I'll be a political science/English double major.

Please try to be objective, even if that means talking against your school.

(I've posted the same thread on the Cal forum).

Comes up a lot. Here’s a search result.

Haha, the first two were mine.

I’ll just plug in a quick note about why I ultimately chose Duke over Berkeley:

Size. Berkeley is awesome because of its large size, but I feels very easy to get lost in the shuffles of 30,000+ students. While its academics are pretty equal to Duke’s, I felt the smaller size of Duke provided the more personal touch that I wanted.

Sorry I can’t input much more, but just thought I’d add in my thought. :)

Thank you! Anything is appreciated! I agree about size.

That’s what she said.
