The Director's Cup takes into account alot of sports nobody really cares about. Football, basketball, and baseball are generally the revenue producing sports (atleast in the SEC). Perhaps Duke has a great football gameday atmosphere -- but losing every single game (as they did last year) can't help crowd support. Vanderbilt isn't a football powerhouse either -- but they are turning the corner and are at the point where all the games are competitive and fun. Most people would agree SEC Football gameday traditions are better than the ACC --- while ACC is a consistent basketball power conference.</p>
