Duke Robertson or Wharton?

Robertson over Wharton anyday.

The Robertson is extremely prestigious. And the staff really gets you connected with top leaders and influential people. (They bring in lots of leaders for seminars, etc. and they have major connections with top places, not to mention that you’ll get to meet Julian Robertson, he is personally invested in all his scholars, and he can potentially link you to internships/jobs since he is a major player in the finance/hedge fund industry). So the prestige of Robertson, since only a select few get it, will outweigh Wharton’s benefits, where you’ll just be another one of 500 competing for the same jobs. (This info from Robertson staff; I was considering applying and they stopped by my school to talk).

Also, the Robertson gives you extraordinary opportunities and the chance to do some really cool things and programs, as it appears on the website. A lot more interesting activities and seems like more fun and enjoyable than Wharton.

Plus, the money! 200k for just about the same level of opportunities (if not more so for the Robertson)! You are in a great position, so you won’t go wrong, but for practical considerations, I’d pick the scholarship.

1) No, don’t read that book. It’s ridiculous.
2) I see the same questions about social life asked a lot so I’ll post my response:

@ eatsalot: I’m half way through the book. Interestingly enough it was Julian Robertson who told me to read it --but with a grain of salt. I know it can’t possibly be like and I’ve heard a few Dukies like yourself who have said that the social life is fantastic so it really puts my mind at a rest. I’m so looking forward to it =)

And to the OP, if you get in message me! I was at one stage quite enticed by the UPenn Benjamin Franklin Scholars and Penn World Scholars programs but I’ve come to the conclusion that Robertson is still definitely the right choice for me!
