I was just wondering if any of you knew if the duke talent identification program was prestigious or anything just answer back please...thanks

Not a clue, but if it's from Duke it can't be very prestigious.

actually, it's pretty decent. i took the duke talent identification program SAT thing, and i got some nice awards. also, i got a scholarship to take one course at a state univeristy. i'm going to use that soon (maybe some french or a writing workshop)...

also, their summer camps are pretty good.

Duke TIP is very well-thought of by colleges. They have great summer programs and some weekend acitivities also.

eklektist, what did you score to get a scholarship?

"Not a clue, but if it's from Duke it can't be very prestigious."

ummm.... Duke is a pretty good school.

The people I know who have taken clsases there really loved it.

Fun, but pricey. Won't look that impressive on your college app, but it's definitely a great experience.

It is a good experience. You meet a lot of cool people. I don't think colleges are impressed by it, but if you have the money and you want to get a good experience you should go, it'll show you what's fun about college life adn being away from your parents for 3 weeks, although I don't think you'll learn anything too heavy.

the program i would do would be six weeks and you could possibly earn two college credits with passing grades

I'm not sure how much you'll remember of what you learn since 6 weeks isn't very long at all for 2 classes. And also, if you are considering many of the top schools, most would not take the credits you earned at TIP.
