Duke TIP? SAT in 7th grade?

Good news.

My son did Duke TIP when he was your age.

He got similar scores to yours on the SAT in the 7th grade

And now, recently, this summer, at the end of the 11th grade, he got 800 CR, 800 writing, and 700 math.

So you are on the right track.

Great work.

@seniorsfo those numbers aren’t right. I was accepted to their summer program with a score about a 100 points lower, and no that’s average for most seniors. 500 is average, CCers need to understand that 600+ in each section isn’t average, it is above average.

I had never taken Al. or a high level English class and I got 460 M 420 CR 390 W 7 essay. Feel free to say it’s low; I’m smart enough to value my counselor’s opinion and teacher’s opinion higher than a complete stranger on the internet.
My last practice test had me at 610 M (no calculator) 540 CR 610 W 11 essay. This was taken end of Sophomore year.

Your 7th grade SAT score means very little in the grand scheme of things, it should go up tremendously depending on the courses you’ve taken since then.

I got a 1480. Don’t remember the specifics though. That was before I took Geometry and understood Algebra.

You’re scoring higher than the average for most high schools in my city…
