Are any of you TiPsters here? :]

i was in 7th grade…I didn’t know it went on beyond that?

Hahha yeah, it actually goes from entering 8th graders to entering 11th graders.

I took the SAT in 7th grade for TIP, don’t really know what that means…

Duke TIP on one of the four talent search programs around the US. One takes the SAT before 8th grade to be identified. The four programs usually have summer programs for the very very bright. Its a great way to meet other smart kids, particularly if you are feeling kind of lonely or odd at your local school.

My daughter participated for a couple of years thought the John Hopkins CTY program. Stanford has a program and there is a fourth in Chicago. It a great line item to put on your resume.

When talking to engineering majors at MIT, I could swear that half of them are Talent search alumni.

A lot of the Duke kids come to MIT for the SPLASH program the weekend before Thanksgiving. Its like a tribal gather for 1500 smart kids. Were else can you take a two hour class in particle physic on a Sunday morning, or have an MIT student teach you “calculus in two hours or less.”

I’m a TIPster… I was at A&M Term 1 2007/2008

bump.

Going to duke west this summer, wouldn’t give it up for anything.

This would be the year I would be a fourth-year, but the people paying want me to try something new, so I’m missing it. :'(
