Duke Transfers

I've heard that transferring to duke is particularly hard and they admit a very low number of students. does anyone have the numbers for transfer rates for the previous years? Also, are there any people out there who were accepted to duke as a transfer student? If so, could you give me some info on your story and stats and what made it happen for you? thank you very much any info would be appreciated.

Duke accepted 79 out of 409 applicants last year. There was a thread earlier this year that claimed Duke only accepted 20 students this past spring.

I applied and was rejected. From what I understand they only admitted 16 out of 470

i heard they only accepted 16 applicants too. i was waitlisted and was on the phone with them like everyday to get off the waitlist but unfortunately they didn't take anybody off.

according to collegeboard: 407 applied and 79 admitted

The collegeboard is not always correct.

I think the collegeboard numbers are from one or two years ago. They wouldn't have the new numbers from this past spring.

The time-reference itself is dubious; Georgetown's numbers were adjusted for Fall 2005, yet they are still incorrect.

It is best to either read the college website or call the admissions office. I do not see any reason for them withholding admissions statistics.
