Duke University Book Store

I'm trying to purchase several books from Duke University Book Store.
But do I choose a shipping option or a pick-up option?

Does pick up mean that I have to go to the bookstore w/in campus to pick them up and does shipping mean that they could either mail to my home address (before going to Duke) or to Duke dorm address or mailbox??

Which one do i choose?

the best bet if you're pre-ordering and are an entering freshman is to do that bundle advertised in summer mailings, as part of blue devil delivery. they bundle books and you pick them up at a designated location on east campus on move-in day.

otherwise, ordering through the website without this freshman package means heading to the west bookstore to get them and having them shipped means them shipping to a designated address (usually off campus - it'd be stupid to have them shipped to your campus PO box, esp. since you're going to need to go pick them up anyway and will likely have to pay for the shipping. )

I'd do a pickup on campus, you are going to go to west campus eventually for classes anyway and chances are the Bryan Center won't be too out of your way, so you can swing by, pick up your books, and be on your way.

so right now, is it worth a pre-order for your books; or just go to teh bookstore the first day on campus and try to buy them all then?

You'll probably pay the same. The only difference is spending 20 minutes in the bookstore while buying your books vs. 3 while picking them up. Whatever you prefer.

do the pickup option. most likely, if you are a freshman, you will be able to pick them up in Lilly Library the day you move in.
