iDOC is part of the CSS Profile (College Board Financial Aid site for private schools) where you can upload documents like W2’s, tax returns, no-tax waivers …
I did apply for financial aid and I have never heard of it
Well they did not ask for anything else from me. I don’t know what that means but we will see soon
I just joined CC, so I apologize if my question has already been discussed. Why do some people receive likely letters? If my son didn’t receive one, does he still have a chance of acceptance?
@LH2023, only a small fraction of students receive Likely Letters. Most accepted students find out when all of the admission decisions are released. Good luck!
@Econphdmom, Thank you for the reply!
@LH2023 No, only a very small number receive LL and the vast majority of those are athletes, legacies, and under represented minorities.
Copied from another board on Reddit:
email my counselor received from Duke:
“We received over 41,600 applications this year, almost 37,000 in the Regular Decision process. We will be offering admission to 2100 Regular Decision applicants, an admit rate of 5.7 percent, or about one in every 18 applicants.”
So it looks like the RD admit rate will be 6.4% but that includes around 240 ED deferrals getting accepted. The rest of us have a 5.7% chance of getting in.
@T20hopeful2023 - So you’re saying there’s a chance! Awesome.
How do you know 240 deferrals got in? seems kinda high.
Last year they had a total of 2340 accepted students for RD, so if they say around 2100 were accepted this year then the extra 240 would be deferrals if they accept the same number as last year. I hope it’s true!! I started loving Duke even more after being deferred
Last year, 2,123 RD applicants were accepted including 99 differed applicants, according to Duke Today. I assume that the extra 230 were accepted from the waitlist.

@tpike12 Outstanding! Good luck you guys!
Does results come on time Tommorow 7PM or is there any chance they release early?
looks like last year they came out about 5 min early
That’s helpful
For what it’s worth, ED released a few minutes early in December, and same thing two years ago. You can probably start checking your portal 5 minutes before the release time.
Is Duke also tomorrow?
yes @apph2019
