^^^Nicely done wbwa.

What are you talking about Rice is incredibly prestigious in the Houston area

Durham is, perhaps without exception, the worst city in NC to live in. Crime is out of control there.

As a native NCer, I can think of worse. Much of eastern North Carolina (e.g. Pembroke) is not exactly a wonderful place to live, with surprisingly high crime rates. Not to mention that the worst parts of Charlotte are a lot worse than anything in the Triangle! :p

Haha alright, I’ll amend my statement a little. Durham is probably the worst “big” (by North Carolina standards) city to live in. There are plenty of rural areas and smaller cities (i.e. Lumberton and Sanford) that are rough, but of the top 5 (Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Durham, and Fayetteville), Durham has the highest crime rates and has a host of other problems to deal with (i.e. corruption). Durham also has a ridiculous no-chase policy that allows criminals to avoid arrest simply by speeding up to a certain speed at which Durham officers are no longer allowed to pursue them.
