And waitlisted for Swarthmore…
Can someone help me weigh out my options here? I don’t want to ask which is the better school because that question can’t really be answered. But what do you think the strengths and weaknesses of each school are. Oh, and I aspire to go to med school. Thanks!
All three a great schools. Depends on what you are looking for. I am not sure about their respective pre-med curriculums, but I would go to Duke or UVa. Though Atlanta is a great town and I’d rather settle there than Durham or Charlottesville, for college I’d rather be in college towns. I also think Duke and UVa have more prestige, but we are talking all excellent schools.
I forgot to add that, based on the people I know who went to these schools, Duke and UVa may have more of a laid-back feel even though they have rigorous academics.
If you’re thinking about med school it’s hard to beat Emory. They have a strong focus on the medical field and work closely with the nearby CDC. Plus they have a partnership with the former president’s Carter Center. Talk about connections. The other options are still amazing however.
It depends on what you can afford. You want to go to med school–great. So that means no matter what you should choose an affordable undergrad education. Duke is a great school but is it affordable for you? That’s a huge weighty price tag. Well, technically, all those schools will be hefty but you have to seriously consider the price tags. Emory and UVA are great too.
Duke. This is a no brainer.
