I am in a huge dilemma! I just returned from visiting both schools and love both of them; they each have their positives and their negatives:

GT-great city, awesome resources for part-time jobs, old traditions, lots of history

Duke-amazing campus, everyone is soo friendly and happy, felt at home when i visited, great weather, great facilities

About me: i'm interested in sciences, specifically physics, and I'm thinking about pre-med. Also, I'm into music and community service. I'm from a large public school in NY. Oh, and I can see myself at both schools! Negatives: GT-campus lacking in facilities, too compact for me; Duke-very rural, party-hardy

duke acceptance: OH MY GOD I GOT INTO DUKE!!!!

i have actually spent a substantial amount of time on georgetown's campus, and to me it feels cramped, hodgepodge (both georgian, modern, and gothic architecture), and fairly limiting.

If you are going into business, choose Duke over Georgetown. Duke is a major pipeline for New York finance jobs...Georgetown, not so much.

If you are going into international relations, I would say the same thing and choose Duke. If you are going into IR, you need a graduate/professional degree to get anywhere...and Duke has superior law/business school admissions rates when compared to Georgetown.

Factor in superior student quality, more national merit scholars, rhodes/truman/marshall scholars, etc. and it should be an easy choice.
