Can't seem to decide on where to go and I need help. Duke has some amazing poli sci and business programs with tons of connections and study abroad opportunities. Stern is ON wall street so that'd be nice, but both are extremely expensive. Im in state so Cal would be about half the price of the other two. My parents are willing to pay for school, but is the extra 25k a year worth it? How are Cal's business and poli sci programs? Can one double major, and/or study abroad?

Cal's business undergraduate school, Haas, starts in your junior year. You will apply separately towards the end of your sophomore year. By going to Duke or Stern you will be getting a head start in the field of business. Is it worth 25K to get that head start? I don't know... It's up to you.

you get no head start by going to duke or stern. duke only has one business related major (or so my friend who go there says) 'management studies'

i don't know much about cal's undergrad poli sci program, but its grad program is one of the best in the nation, isn't it?

and as for haas, its undergrad business program ranks 3rd in the US. so in other words, it's pretty darn good.

double majoring and studying abroad are pretty easy (assuming that you know how to pace yourself). i'm doing the former and many of my friends are doing the latter. it's no biggie.

^Incorrect about ranking. We're a bit lower according to B-Week this year. However, Haas is still an amazing program, and internships are a few BART stops away. Getting into Haas does seem daunting, but it's definitely not the hardest task in the world. Just don't mess around your first 3 semesters and be an active leader in whatever you decide to do outside of class.

does anyone know law school admission rates from Cal undergrad?
