<p>unc - great education (not stellar). big (impersonal?). Cheap. </p>
<p>duke - outstanding education. smaller (more personal?). Not Cheap. SMARTER STUDENTS</p>
<p>unless u have close to a full ride to unc and no money to duke, i’d choose duke…</p>
<p>UNC was 2X more expensive for me out of state than Duke…</p>
<p>UNC is a less intense environment, and has some dedicated schools such as for journalism which Duke lacks. However, most students want a broader education either way.</p>
<p>I obviously recommend Duke over UNC, but UNC is also a fine school.</p>
<p>I’m oos and, this year, a good friend of mine from elementary school that I had not seen in YEARs moved near me (by complete chance) and we now go to the same school again. I am heartbroken, however, to learn that he’s set on UNC while i’m prepared to go to Duke. I feel like we’re brothers torn to two separate ways..=p</p>
