Duke waitlist...

does anyone know exactly how many will be taken off the waitlist this year for the class of 2014? i heard 60, but then i heard that its gonna be more than they expected... like there's apparently quite a few spots in Pratt. have they all been filled already?

I’ve already heard people getting in off the wait list at Pratt.

Haven’t heard anything about Trinity yet.

Keep in mind, Duke wait-listed over 3,000 students.

I know of at least one person who’s gotten in off the Trinity waitlist.

Really? When did they hear?

April 28 actually

ya… ive heard of people getting into pratt on the 28th… no idea they let someone into trinity too. do you think there will still be offers during may? i hope so

There will likely be offers during May, as Duke may lose some students as they get pulled off the waitlist at other schools.

plumdum229,

Are you REALLY sure the student was a Trinity applicant rather than Pratt?

Yes very sure. He may have been a special case though. Won’t go into too much detail for privacy reasons.

eh I hope they release soon

if u wanna update your profile like a new award, etc, how should i inform them? (through email? if so… what’s the email address? I can’t seem to find it)

It’s on the undergrad admissions site. Just google Duke admissions.

Hi, I am a Trinity applicant and was accepted off the waiting list today.

I received an email from one of the Dean of Admissions at Duke, she had tried calling my cell phone, but I’ve been going through cell phone issues the past few days.

About a week ago I sent to my representative (found the email address through Naviance) an update/interest email. I talked a little bit about the internship I will soon begin, and reiterated my interest in Duke.

This is my first post (long time lurker, though I recently created an account), and I just wanted to share some more information about the Duke waitlist situation.

^I hate you but congrats -.-

Same, I got off the waitlist at Trinity yesterday too. I got a call and an email from my regional admissions counselor.

D got off waitlist at Trinity yesterday too. She got a call on her cell from her regional admissions counselor.

Oh wow! Okay okay…so how do we know if we’re off the waitlist? Are they still making calls? My home phone is broken haha. Will they email anyway whether it’s good or bad news? Also…did the students who got admitted off the wait list update their file?
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH DUKE. IF YOU DON’T CALL ME…!! GRRR :P

I got off the Trinity waitlist yesterday. I got a call on my cell at 1:45 PM EST. A lady called to confirm that I was still interested, and said I would get an admit package in the mail next week.

I didn’t send any updated materials (out of both procrastination and desire to get used to Cornell, where I already sent in a deposit). Now I’m facing a tough decision between Duke and Cornell. =/

^If you want engineering, go to Cornell. If you want pre-med/medical, go to Duke.
Anything else inbetween…go with your gut.

I don’t think it’s so clear cut. Either way, I’ve heard that undergraduate is more about the experience and graduate is really where you start to narrow in.
