I'm debating whether or not to apply to Duke as ED next year. If I apply early, I would need to be somewhat sure of e financial aid I would receive. My family makes around 70,000 a year. Does Duke give generous financial aid to my income bracket? I don't need specific numbers, I just want to make sure I'm not in over my head before applying. Any information/ personal experiences would be great! Thanks

run the net price calculator for Duke. you’ll need your parents’ recent tax statement to plug in the data. the npc will give you an estimated family contribution, and that will give you some idea if your family can afford it.

Also, you can go to the Duke board. Duke was my top choice, and while I did not get in, I could answer some questions about the school itself.

Short answer? Yes. But run the NPC to get an estimate.

Right, my parents plan to run it sometime soon, I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with Duke’s financial aid program before doing so. Thanks!

With an income of less than 60k each year Duke is pretty much free. I know you said the 70k bracket, but that means it should be pretty cheap.

Don’t just look at income though. If your parents have a lot in savings/investments that aren’t in retirement funds, your financial aid will be much lower than those charts that give estimates based on income. Just a tip that I’ve found out the hard way!
