<p>Ok, I need some major help. Im a junior from TX and I REALLY want to go to Duke. One of the major problems is that my class rank is low due to my freshman and soph. years. This year, though, Ive stepped it up a bit.
my class rank is like 37/636
i also got my psat scores back and i got a 227, but this is a MAJOR jump from when i took it soph year and got a 172..
Also, i have good extracurriculars- Orch, Key Club, NHS, SNHS, Girl Scout Gold Award, Cross Country, Track (which i want to do in college), elementary tutor, 900+volunteer hours, YMCA basketball, etc. which various leadership positions in those (that im too tired to expand upon) (also, there are other ec activities but im too tired for that as well)
Anyway, Im taking this massive test prep course for the SAT.
I am taking 6 honors/ap courses this year and have made A's in all this semester.
Do I even have a chance a Duke? Would it be a good idea to contact the coach to see if it helps my admissions case?</p>
<p>Yeah, i think you do, colleges really like improvement. Make sure you get excellent scores on you SAT's and SAT 2's, keep doing lots extra curriculars and keep getting straight A's and taking AP courses. Do all that and I'd say you have a great chance.</p>

<p>Do you think you can run track at Duke? Have you filled out their recruiting form and/or contacted the coach? My S is a junior and may try for cross country/track at Duke.</p>
